  • Ten Bridesmaids

You know you love the Lord, church, christian brothers and sisters and good christian music. Is that enough for the times we are living in?  Calm, middle of the road religion is like an innoculation. It is just enough of a dose to keep you from getting a full blown case of the real thing. To truly know God is to be in touch with the extravagant nature of His love and to return it in an extravagant way. In fact, that kind of love is not even in our human nature.  We need the Holy Spirit to fill us and keep filling us until there is no more room.  I mean filled until everything we touch will be affected by the overflow.  We must be filled until the atmosphere changes when we come into the room. This is what it means to have extrta oil. It is time to make it our business to seek the Lord until we are ready for His return.

Matthew 25:1-4 The kingdom of heaven can be illustrated by the story of ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five of them were wise. The five who were foolish took no oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil.

  • Falling into His arms

Job 13:13 Be quiet and I will speak. Let whatever comes happen to me. Why do I put myself at risk and take my life in my own hands? Even if He kills me, I will hope in Him.

This is truly faith, to have trust in God in the good and bad times, whatever comes. We can have confidence and not fear in every situation with this attitude. We are not afraid to go ahead with plans because we know that whatever happens, God will take us through it. It is truly believing at the core of our being that God has plans for our good, and in the long run, he will bring them to pass. This helps us not to have and attitude that "If I make one mistake, it will ruin my whole life." Can't you see that God takes the good and the bad and uses it to mold us like a piece of pottery in His hands? Life is an adventure when we are free falling into His arms.

  • Should homeschooling be illegal? Why or why not?

Homeschooling should definitely not be illegal!  I thought we lived in a free country! When parents want to take responsibility for the education of their own children, they should be encouraged and helped in every way possible. There should be only enough accountability to ensure that the children are actually being taught. Public education was not even a part of colonial America, so in that way, it is the newcomer and homeschooling has been around a lot longer. If parents want to get help in educating their children, it is up to them, but in this free country, if they want to do it themselves, this is also up to them. All three of my home educated children are doing well as adults.

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!
